The annual ZIMBABWE AID FUND GOLF DAY will be held at Boomerang Golf Club on Sunday the 17th September 2017. It is a great day to catch up with old friends in a beautiful setting while supporting a great cause. Last year over $23 000 was raised. The TOOWOOMBA CRICKET FESTIVAL will be held on Saturday the 7th October at the Hodgson Vale Sports Club on the New England Highway. For further information please contact Simon Lamont on Mob: 042173329 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, prize giving and lots of fun ‘catch up’. Bring the Kids. All funds raised will go to the pensioners in Zimbabwe.
On March 19th-26th this year, the father and son team of Sandy and Andrew Rae will embark on tackling the worlds toughest Mountain Bike Stage race. They will cover over 647KM’s of Africa’s toughest terrain and climb a vertical ascent of 15,000m’s which is almost twice that of Everest in 8 days.
Sandy has just turned 70 years old and is proving that age is just a number. He is the oldest rider in the Epic this year and is the oldest rider to have ever competed. The team will be riding to raise funds for the elderly people of Zimbabwe. Many of these people do not have any pensions or other resources and are reliant on the parcels that they receive from these worthy charity organisations. Last year the team raised over $5000 for the pensioners which was a fantastic effort.
